Den Osse, “Brouwershaven”
The island Schouwen-Duiveland knows many characteristic places; like Haamstede, where you’ll find the most enchanting forests and dunes, or Zierikzee, with it’s monumentally old towncenter and lovely little shops. Ofcourse Brouwershaven, with its classic facades and picturesque alleys and streets, is also well worth a visit.
Enjoy the wind on your face at the beach, take a lovely hike along the uniquely rolling meadows and dunes, or visit one of the many idyllic little villages! Den Osse is located at the edge of the Grevelingenmeer, the biggest saltwater lake in Europe! Here, you can surf, sail and waterski to your heart’s content. Restarants are within walking distance.
There’s plenty to experience and explore for nature enthousiasts! Like a hike through the dunes of Haamstede.
Visit the Watersnoodmuseum in Ouwekerk, a museum dedicated to the great flood in 1953. Or go birdwatching in the dedicated reserves. Though in fact, the wide green meadows and dunes make the whole island of Schouwen-Duiveland into one great big bird paradise!
In short, Den Osse has something to offer for the young and old!
